Brearley waving

When you are in Australia you don't say anything about Bradman being a lesser mortal, ditto on Sachin in India (ask the Atherton's, the Manjrekar's, the Ian Chappell's on the response from the maniac Indian fans for there articles online), and you probably wouldn't want to criticize certain Quiz masters in Chennai :-), that's a different story anyway. In England, they hold Mike Brearley in such a high esteem for his captaincy and man management skills and for having a degree in people. Not a lot of that is shared in other places. I found this incredible, the whole team has collapsed both innings and one man was playing the innings of his life and upon reaching his hundred, you see Brearley waving from the confines of the dressing room to stay put. What the hell. You mess your job completely and are ready to give instructions for a better performer, is that it? Irked me no ends.
